The School of Humanities at the University of Southampton encompasses a diverse range of subjects providing high-quality teaching within a vibrant research culture. You will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a Digital Humanities education and research strategy within the School. You will have a growing academic profile in Digital Humanities, Digital Media, Digital Culture, or an aligned subject area, and undertake work that directly engages with one or more of the following subject areas: English, Film, Modern Languages and Linguistics, Philosophy.

You will be supported by recent investment in Digital Humanities expertise, estate, and resources. Notable among these is our Digital Humanities Hub, an infrastructure that supports study and research, is a hub for expertise and critique, and provides access to technologies that enable us to make and explore virtual worlds, sonify pictures, scan and manipulate heritage objects, immerse ourselves in data visualisations, and much more.

You should hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject, as well as a teaching qualification (PCAP or equivalent). You will also be expected to have advanced skills, knowledge and proven experience of Digital Humanities education and research activity.

This position will be offered on a full time, permanent basis.
