> Recruitment takes place within the framework of the Altissia Chair in "Digital Humanities and Ethics".

> The objective of this chair is to provide an analysis of the changes occurring in languages, arts, cultures and thought in relation to digital technology and artificial intelligence, but also to inspire and stimulate teaching in this field at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters and to innovate by bringing together the main research actors in the field and suggesting new applications in the relevant subject matters.

> Description of the mission

> Teaching

>

> The successful candidate will teach mainly in the field of digital technology in relation to the subjects taught at the Faculty, depending on his or her fields of expertise (philosophy, ethics, archaeology, history of art, musicology, history, modern, ancient or oriental languages and literatures, translation and interpreting, performing arts) and will have the following missions:

>

> Offer courses aimed at equipping students with the capacity for reflection and action in relation to digital technology in the fields of cultures and languages (mainly at Master's level and possibly at postgraduate level).

> Develop a pedagogy based on digital technology and induce a movement towards a greater consideration of digital technology in the Faculty's teaching.

>

> Research

>

> The successful candidate will develop and drive a cutting-edge and internationally recognized research programme in relation to one or more Research Institutes among those related to the disciplinary fields taught at the Faculty (philosophy, ethics, languages and literatures, history, history of art, musicology, performing arts, translation and interpreting, etc.).

>

> While building his or her own team, he or she will aim to:

>

> set up ambitious projects and obtain funding in the field of digital

> technology applied to languages and cultures, mainly in relation to

> his or her fields of expertise; organize internationally renowned

> scientific events around digital technology in connection with the disciplinary fields taught at the Faculty; encourage innovation through collective research projects that build bridges between researchers and teams around digital technology; communicate the results of his or her research through international scientific publications.

>

> Specific qualifications

>

> Hold a Master's and/or PhD degree in one of the subjects taught at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters: philosophy, ethics, archaeology, history of art, musicology, history, modern, ancient or oriental languages and literatures, linguistics, translation and interpreting, performing arts. Training in more than one of these subjects is an additional asset.

> Hold a Master's and/or PhD degree in a digital field: computer science, information science and technology, engineering, etc. The lack of training in a digital field can be compensated by significant professional experience. In this case, the applicant must include in his or her cover letter an explanation of their background and achievements in order to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the digital field. The expected level of technical skills is high (ability to design or program digital environments).

> - be responsible for teaching courses at all study levels in the

> Qualifications : the applicant must have

> - a PhD degree and meet the specific qualifications hereabove

> - a significant scientific record with international publications;

> - either  studied abroad for an extensive period or have had

> substantial experience outside the UCLouvain;

> - experience in and the aptitude for teaching at university level,

> demonstrated if possible by formal assessments;

> - the capacity to work within a team of teachers and to integrate

> research findings into teaching;

> - creativity and must be open to teaching innovation and

> interdisciplinarity;

> - the capacities required to undertake high-level academic

> research:capacity to raise research fundings, to supervise projects,

> to animate and lead a research team;

> - have team management and communication skills, including if possible

> fluency in French and English, spoken and written. Otherwise, you will

> be asked to acquire them within two years after taking office, in

> order to be able to communicate and teach in these languages.

> Knowledge of other languages ​​is an additional asset;
