The Stanford University Libraries is pleased to announce a new software developer position that will help build sophisticated, sustainable, and generalizable tools and infrastructure in order to support interdisciplinary digital research.  We are looking for a qualified and dedicated software developer who is interested in building  technologies to support projects in the digital humanities, computational social sciences, STEM fields and more.

The Digital Library Research Engineer will join a world class team that is developing interfaces, tools and software to enable online discovery, viewing and collaborative annotation of digital library and other resources to advance research. Developing, implementing and contributing to open standards and open source software is an explicit objective of the position.

This developer will have the chance to work on a number of exciting projects that leverage community-driven technologies such as the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF), Mirador, Blacklight, GeoBlacklight, Spotlight and Hydra.  One such project will use these technologies to help provided enhanced access to digitized medieval manuscripts from the Vatican Library.
