The Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities/Institute for Corpus
Linguistics and Text Technology at the Austrian Academy of Sciences is
looking for a

      Data Curator (f/m)

within the project "Joseph Eckhel (1737-1798) and his numismatic
network". This part-time position (50%, 20 hours/week) is available from
March 15, 2015 for 6 months. Place of employment is Vienna.

Being conducted within the framework of Fontes Inediti Numismaticae
Antiquae (FINA), the project aims at transcribing and editing the
letters from and to Eckhel, which are mainly in French, Italian, Latin
and German, as well as providing a numismatic commentary on them. A
web-based digital edition will be published in cooperation with the
Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities.

Key duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for editing and enhancing
the XML data of the transcriptions according to the Guidelines for
Electronic Text Encoding and Interchange of the Text Encoding Initiative
in close cooperation with the project leader and the staff of the
Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities.

Skills required
- BA or MA in a historical or philological discipline
- Acquaintance with XML-based technologies, preferably practical
experience with TEI Guidelines (P5) and
- experience in philological text editing
- Knowledge of German, preferably also of Latin, Italian and/or French

The salary will be € 1.331,30 gross/month, according to the FWF scheme
