CALL 2015 DARIAH-IT Models for Open Access Publishing Summer School

The first DARIAH-IT International DH Summer School will be hosted at Villa Vigoni. German-Italian Centre for European Excellence (Via Giulio Vigoni, 1 - 22017 Loveno di Menaggio, CO, Italy) from June 9 to June 11, 2015.

The three days long summer school will focus on multiple aspects of open access publishing. Experts in open access, librarians, archivists, linguists, jurists, editors and publishers will present and discuss the future of the book from their perspective in order to provide a comprehensive and useful landscape and gap analysis of this most delicate ecological system.

A short summary plan for the summer school can be found here, summary plan. The summer school is aimed primarily at Ph.D. and post-doctoral researchers and others with advanced knowledge of humanities research. The language of the seminars and discussion will be English.

If you are interested in applying for the summer school, please send the following 4 documents tohansmichael.hohenegger@cnr.it before the application deadline of April 30, 2015

  1. If you are a student, a very short statement from your advisor stating that the summer school will help you in your research.
  2. Your CV, in English.
  3. A half-page statement stating what you hope to gain from the summer school and how you expect what you learn in the summer school to help you in your research.
  4. A poster or paper with a presentation of your research topic of 5-8 minutes. You should be prepared to give this presentation at a summer school seminar.

A limited number of small stipends to cover hotel costs will be made available to participants who are Ph.D. or Masters students. If you would like to apply for one of these, please indicate it when you send in your other materials. We will inform those have been awarded these stipends after the decisions have been made.
